Pacing. Redcoat #1, like other comics from Ghost Machine, is on the longer side. It’s 40 pages long. Since it’s the first book in the series, it has to introduce readers to the character. More action is likely to follow in the rest of the series.
Art. The digital version of this book offers eye-catching art. It may not be the greatest comic book art ever, in the league of Batman: Death by Design or Fables #58, but there is a visual treat on every screen.
Characters. One reviewer described Simon as “kind of a fun guy.” He is reconciled to the fact that he is immortal, and lives the best life he can.
Enjoyment. There are a lot of really bad comics, but Ghost Machine consistently turns out comics that are fun to read. No doubt there will be a more exciting story line in future releases, but readers are not disappointed with the 40 pages of Redcoat #1.
